EDUCATION COORDINATOR

CAF Headquarters Seaking An Education Coordinator

(DALLAS, TX, March 20, 2018) - The Education Coordinator supports the design and execution of the CAF National Educational programs that consists of Aviation and STEM educational initiatives as well as Inspirational Programs known as RISE ABOVE. These programs are designed to introduce area students to aviation concepts and technology to develop an understanding and interest in aviation and its history. In addition, providing tools and mentorship to pursue post secondary opportunities. Also provides an inspirational introduction to the lessons of the Tuskegee Airmen, WASP and other key marginalized groups within society during WWII and showcase their struggle to achieve their goals, thereby relating the challenges of the past to the challenges faced today (with emphasis on young people). This person also supports the development and execution of the CAF National Airbase Education Center educational programs and non-residential camps onsite and its integration into the community.

As part of the Rise Above educational programs, this person provides technical support to all CAF physical facilities, as well as the traveling educational components by developing standards and protocols to create and distribute content with the finished product to be described as “best in class”. Develops interfaces and connections with the Educational and Academic communities. Liaison to special interest groups within the greater community and develops support for CAF educational programs at the CAF National Airbase.

Supporting team member to the educational fund raising efforts, (grants, major gifts) in coordination with development staff. Supports the sourcing of materials and supplier(s) required for educational programming at the Airbase and CAF Units. Works with creative team to produce additional content for national and Unit programs. Assists Units building sustainable education programs in their area. Reports metrics of impact and community involvement. This person is a public ambassador for CAF Education at CAF National Airbase and supports other educational programs not directly associated with Rise Above and performs other duties, as assigned. REQUIREMENTS:

Education
Post-secondary education, prefer education/child development
Aviation and/or history background would be an asset
At least two years’ experience in non-profit sector preferred
Skills and Abilities
Creative and Technical writing experience
Project management
Program design - Program execution - Impact evaluation
Web Site management (content development, maintenance)
Ability to use power tools and equipment
Ability to do moderate travel
Presentation development and delivery
Strong interpersonal and public relations (customer service) skills and the capacity to engage and interact with a wide range of people
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to pass an at risk youth back ground check
Valid drivers license
Bilingual (English and Spanish) considered a plus
