June 28 - Letter from TAB Leadership

Members and Friends,

The Central Texas Wing has now crossed the Atlantic…...twice! I am proud to report that That’s All, Brother arrived in Goose Bay, Newfoundland late this afternoon - completing our second crossing of the Atlantic and returning That’s All, Brother to North America.

The last 45 days have been nothing less than epic. In addition to two crossings of the Atlantic, we honored the sacrifices of D-Day with a crossing and paradrop on June 5. We participated in a massive multinational flyover for the French and American Presidents over Omaha Beach on June 6. In Germany, we participated in events honoring the Berlin Airlift, including a massive show in Wiesbaden, Germany and a mass flyover of Berlin that was front page news. Finally, for the first time, the Commemorative Air Force performed at the Paris Air Show.

Along the way, and more importantly, each of our crews worked together to overcome adversity and accomplish these missions. They could not have done so without the support and resources of our entire Central Texas Wing Team. Many stories will be told in the coming weeks and months about this journey, but the overriding theme will be the teamwork and friendships born and strengthened out of the challenges that were overcome.

While we are now in North America, we are not yet home. There is still work to do and still opportunities to be a part of this trip. We will need pilots and ground crew for three more tour stops - Janesville, WI, Oshkosh, and Omaha, NE. I would encourage everyone to consider making an effort to be a part of one of these events. All are important to the successful completion of this journey.

If all goes well, That’s All, Brother will return to San Marcos on August 10th.
