Commemorative Air Force Flying Museum Participates in North Texas Giving Day

Sept. 3, 2020 (Dallas)- The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) announced today that it will proudly participate in the 12th annual North Texas Giving Day fundraising event. This annual online program allows individuals to give back to the community by supporting local non-profits and causes they care about via an easy-to-use platform. North Texas Giving Day will occur on Sept. 17, 2020, from 6 a.m. to midnight (CST), but those interested in supporting the CAF may already schedule their contributions at https://www.northtexasgivingday.org/commemorative-air-force.

The Dallas-based Commemorative Air Force is dedicated to educating, inspiring and honoring through flight and living history experiences. As the world’s largest flying museum with more than 170 vintage World War II aircraft, the organization plays a vital and unique role in preserving America’s military aviation history.

“With so many organizations struggling across America, events like these help remind people of the important role that non-profits play in our communities,” said Hank Coates, CAF President and CEO. “For the CAF, this is an especially meaningful time as we reflect upon the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II and recognize the enormous sacrifices of our nation’s heroes."

This year’s North Texas Giving Day comes at a great time for the Commemorative Air Force as the organization works toward completion of its new Henry B. Tippie National Aviation Education Center (NAEC). Located at Dallas Executive Airport, the NAEC will be home to educational programs where students will learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) in a truly engaging way. Every gift received through the North Texas Giving Day website will be matched thanks to a generous $500,000 matching gift incentive provided by an anonymous donor.

“The educational programs we are creating will give students of all ages unprecedented hands-on learning opportunities,” said Nancy McGee, CAF Vice President of Education “Flight is a captivating theme that we use to inspire and motivate student learning, with an emphasis on developing critical thinking and leadership skills. Additionally, an objective in our programs is to instill an appreciation for those committed to defending our freedom.”

RozeLyn Beck, CAF’s Chief Relationship Officer, added “The Commemorative Air Force is proud to call Dallas our headquarters. Participating in important programs like the North Texas Giving Day gives us a platform to raise our visibility and let the community know about this national treasure located in their own backyard.
