Kermit Weeks & The Night Witches
Online Event (October 28, 2026) OK, Gang! This Halloween, we're joining legendary aviator and aircraft collector Kermit Weeks for a story that's more fascinating than frightening—and every bit of it is true! At his incredible Fantasy of Flight collection, Kermit introduces us to the Polikarpov Po-2, a seemingly unassuming Soviet biplane with a remarkable connection to one of World War II's most legendary groups of aviators: the Night Witches. Flying open-cockpit aircraft under the cover of darkness, these fearless Soviet women carried out daring nighttime bombing missions against German forces. Sometimes cutting their engines to glide silently toward their targets, they earned a chilling nickname from the enemy: Nachthexen, or the "Night Witches." Join CAF Warbird Tube and Kermit Weeks as we explore this remarkable aircraft, the women who made it famous, and the extraordinary history behind one of WWII's most haunting nicknames.
