Open Airplane Afternoon, Cruise In & Fly In 2020 (This event is in place of the annual Wings & Wheels Expo at the airport terminal which will return in 2021) Saturday, September 12 11am to 4pm WWII TBM Avenger “Doris May” and Stinson L-5 will be attending from the Capitol Wing of the CAF. Bring the family to the museum’s Open Airplane Afternoon at the Hagerstown Regional Airport and walk through the museum’s Fairchild C-82 and C-119 Flying Boxcars. New addition: See the museum's 1956 Fairchild C-123K Provider. The C-123 arrived at the Hagerstown Regional Airport by truck in December and has now been reassembled for the public to walk through. See other museum aircraft such as the 1919 Bellanca CE, 1928 Kreider Reisner KR-31 biplane, Fairchild 22, 24 and PT-26. All of these aircraft were built in Hagerstown!

You are invited to relive history with an open cockpit flight experience in the museum’s 1943 Fairchild PT-19 WWII Trainer. Flights are available for a $150 donation. PT-19 flights start at 10am. Sign up at the museum gift shop trailer or call for more info. We will also have @Bentwood Smokers BBQ & Catering cooking throughout the event! Stop by and grab some delicious BBQ while you check out all the amazing wings & wheels!

You are invited to bring your show car, truck, military vehicle, motorcycle, etc to the cruise in. Free to enter donations appreciated. Please arrive by 10am for cruise in parking. See airport activity up-close; with planes taking off and landing. FREE admission/donations appreciated. Museum merchandise, books, toys, DVDs, hats and T-shirts for sale.

This is an outdoor event. Please follow current social distancing recommendations. Masks are required when social distancing cannot be maintained.
