Memorial Day
The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Airbase Georgia will honor the memory of America’s servicemen and women with an open house on May 30 at its hangar, 1200 Echo Ct., Peachtree City, Ga. The hangar adjoins Atlanta Regional Airport – Falcon Field. The open house will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and feature tours of the Airbase’s seven operating WWII era aircraft, tours of the maintenance shop and additional tabletop displays and exhibits.
“We are a working museum,” said Airbase Leader Joel Perkins. “Our aircraft are maintained and upgraded constantly, and we also offer the chance to see a restored Link Trainer and a PT-17 Stearman biplane trainer in the midst of restoration. “This open house is our way of honoring all men and women who have been lost in service to our country, including those of “The Greatest Generation” who gave all to help win WWII,” Perkins said.
