NAEC Honors African American Aviators in February

Dallas - February 11, 2022- All month long the Henry B. Tippie National Aviation Education Center (NAEC) will be celebrating black pioneers in the aviation community. They will shine a spotlight on some amazing and influential African Americans including Bessie Coleman, Brig. Gen. Charles McGee, and Janet Bragg.

The Henry B. Tippie National Aviation Education Center (NAEC), located in southern Dallas, is proud to announce the Brig. Gen. Charles McGee and Don Hinz Theater, features the film RISE ABOVE: Red Tail, the Story of the Tuskegee Airmen. This film is shown on the half hour. The film highlights the struggles and determination of the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of primarily Black military pilots and airmen who fought in World War II. Along with the film, there is an exhibit dedicated to the Tuskegee Airmen and the life of Brig. Gen. Charles McGee.

In addition, online subscribers to the NAEC can receive educational resources, like Black History Month Profiles, via email. The online information is free, just visit the website www.flynaec.org to subscribe.

The NAEC is open to the public on Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. School tours may be arranged for $6 per student for groups of 10 or larger. Contact info@flyNAEC.org or call (877)767-7175, ext. 126.
