The Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun was a German four-seat sport and touring aircraft developed in the 1930s by Bayerische Flugzeugwerke (later Messerschmitt). Designed for speed and efficiency, it featured an all-metal monoplane design and retractable landing gear—advanced for its time. Initially built for civilian use, the Bf 108 gained fame in air races and long-distance flights before being adopted by the Luftwaffe for liaison, transport, and training roles during World War II. Despite its military service, the aircraft remained a symbol of German aviation innovation, and several examples continue flying today in civilian hands.
